On 12–13 October 2022, the 35th year of the traditional symposium was held in Mikulov. The theme of this conference was women in the history of Moravia. The papers dealt with the lives of specific women, their activities in associations, educational institutions and in public sphere in general. Attention was also paid to the possibilities of studying women in memory institutions in Moravia and Bohemia. Věra Slováková from our team gave the presentation on Moravské manželky českých státních úředníků v druhé polovině 19. století [Moravian wives of Bohemian state officials in the second half of the nineteenth century]. In the beginning, she introduced our project and then she explored to what extent civil servants chose their wives based on their geographical and social origin. The meeting demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary encounters – archivists, museologists and historians inspired each other to further their research.
